The separate Polsia pageview beacon stores a random browser ID in local storage and sends it with Gaugegrain’s site ID to count page views in aggregate. It is not owner-readable and is not used for funnel visits or attribution. Gaugegrain records first-party acquisition events to measure referral sources and aggregate signup and purchase conversion. It sets a random first-party browser ID cookie that expires after 30 days. It records UTM source, medium, campaign, and an external referring hostname when available. If a valid active referral code is present in the ref query parameter, its code remains in the owner-managed code registry while active; visits and signup records store its internal code ID, not the full URL. At signup, Gaugegrain links the latest referral code captured in the prior 30 days through the first-party browser ID and account ID. A later purchase is attributed only when Gaugegrain has a provider-verified checkout linked to that account. The owner-facing report returns aggregates, not account IDs. Acquisition visit and signup event records are deleted after 365 days by daily cleanup. Active code records remain while active; disabled codes are deleted after 365 days. Attribution can be incomplete when a browser identifier is unavailable or a referral cannot be connected through these first-party records. Acquisition records exclude names, email addresses, IP addresses, user-agent details, full referrer URLs, unrelated query parameters, and fitness measurement values.
